Delta College Prep Signs 2007 Forward Jake Johnson from New Jersey Titans 18U AAA
Delta College Prep is proud to announce the signing of 2007-born forward Jake Johnson for the 2025-26 season. Johnson joins DCP after a quick 2 weeks with the New Jersey Titans 18U AAA program in both the AYHL and BEAST 18U circuits.
An Ohio native, Johnson brings with him a strong background from his time with the Newark Generals (USHS-OH), where he developed a reputation as a gritty, first-line forward unafraid of the hard areas while still possessing a strong scoring touch. In recorded games from his high school career, Johnson posted 4 goals and 1 assist for 5 points in just 6 games, demonstrating his ability to generate offense consistently.
General Manager David Dew shared:
“Johnny is a huge signing for this team a couple weeks into the season. He brings the physical edge we’ve been looking for and has a proven track record of offensive ability. We worked with MOLE Hockey alumnus Jack Bortle (Newark Generals alumni) to bring Jake in, and we’re extremely happy with what he’s added both on the ice and in the locker room. Jake should have no problem advancing into Tier 2 junior hockey in the near future.”
Head Coach Mitch Gillespie added:
“Jake plays the game with intensity and isn’t afraid to get to the tough areas. He has a strong motor, good hands around the net, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to help his team win. His experience in USHS-OH and 18U circuits will translate well into our prep schedule.”
