DCP Signs 2009 Goaltender Dryden Waldschmidt for 2025-26

Delta College Prep Signs 2009 Goaltender Dryden Waldschmidt for 2025-26

Delta College Prep Hockey is proud to announce the signing of 2009-born goaltender Dryden Waldschmidt for the upcoming 2025-26 prep season. Waldschmidt joins DCP after a strong year with the Maine Jr. Mariners, where he gained valuable experience in the THF and UT1HL 15U circuit.

Last season, Waldschmidt posted 9 starts with a .933 save percentage and a 1.00 GAA, proving himself as a reliable and composed presence in net. Leaving home to pursue hockey development is nothing new for Dryden or his brother Cohen Waldschmidt, who will also suit up for Delta College Prep this season.

Head Coach Mitch Gillespie shared:

“I’ve had the chance to connect with Dryden multiple times over the phone this offseason, and he’s a great kid with the right attitude. On the ice, he tracks the puck well, stays calm under pressure, and has the small details in his game that give his teammates confidence. We’re excited to welcome him to Delta College Prep and I believe he’ll make an immediate impact in our program.”

General Manager David Dew added:

“Dryden comes to us at a perfect age to embark on a key journey in his development in preparation for higher levels. He holds a very solid skill base and tracks pucks well. Small details, such as steering puck to corners off stick and maintaining correct stance/positioning, provide us with intangibles to build on. We’re excited to get Dry prep hockey reps this season.”
