Delta College Prep Signs 2008 Forward Ben Kanellis from Rochester, NY
Delta College Prep Hockey is proud to announce the signing of 2008-born forward Ben Kanellis for the 2025-26 season. A native of Rochester, New York, Kanellis joins DCP after a standout year with Churchville-Chili High School (USHS-NY), where he led his team in overall scoring and proved his offensive ability.
Though listed at 5’8”, Kanellis makes up for size with blazing speed, relentless compete level, and dynamic offensive instincts. He was identified as a top prospect during MOLE Hockey’s Niagara Falls MHES Combine, where he impressed against both current prep school players and Tier 2 junior competition. His skill set and skating ability should allow for a smooth transition into the college prep circuit.
Head Coach Mitch Gillespie shared:
“Ben led Churchville-Chili High School in scoring last season and turned heads as a standout at our MOLE Combine in Buffalo. A dynamic forward with high-end speed, he’s a constant offensive threat every time he has the puck and someone we’re expecting to contribute immediately.”
General Manager David Dew added:
“We wanted Ben the moment we saw his skating abilities at the MHES Combine. He has a good head on his shoulders and obvious offensive talent. With his strong desire for Tier 2 junior hockey and the attributes to achieve that, he will thrive after gaining valuable reps with us. Ben is a fast, relentless forechecker and isn’t afraid to make contact.”
