Delta College Prep Signs New York Forward Winfred Simpson IV
Delta College Prep Hockey is proud to announce the signing of forward Winfred “Winnie” Simpson IV from New York for the 2025-26 season. Simpson joins DCP after a strong year with the Seacoast Performance Academy (SPA) in New Hampshire, where he played 59 games, recording 6 goals and 7 assists for 13 points, along with 10 penalty minutes.
Before his time at SPA, Simpson was a standout in USHS-NY with Northeastern Clinton High School, where his offensive ability was on full display. In the 2024-25 season alone, he tallied 29 goals and 16 assists for 45 points in just 19 games, proving himself as a dangerous scorer and playmaker. His blend of skill and experience across both prep and high school hockey makes him a strong addition to the Delta College Prep forward group.
Head Coach Mitch Gillespie shared:
“Winnie joins us after a standout run with the Seacoast program, following up his scoring touch at Northeastern Clinton High. He’s a dynamic forward who creates offense and we expect him to make an immediate impact down the middle for us.”
General Manager David Dew added:
“Winnie is an unbelievable kid, we had great recruiting calls leading up to his arrival. He brings extremely valuable experience from a solid 18U AAA circuit and three years of USHS-NY. Players with his background from high school hockey in New York have translated well to our program, and we’re confident he’ll do the same.”
