Delta College Prep Welcomes Slovak Forward Samuel Rapavy for 2025-26
Delta College Prep Hockey is proud to announce the addition of 2007-born forward Samuel Rapavy, one of three international players joining the roster for the 2025-26 season. Rapavy arrives in North America after competing the past two years in Sweden’s J18 Division 1 with AIK Härnösand (2023-24, 2024-25). Prior to that, he played in Slovakia’s 16U and 18U circuits with HA Slavia Presov, HC Lucenec, and HC 46 Bardejov, suiting up at the U18 level as just a 15-year-old.
At 5’10”, Rapavy is known for his playmaking ability and offensive instincts. During last season’s Swedish campaign, he recorded 2 goals and 14 assists for 16 points, proving his ability to generate offense and create scoring opportunities. The 2025-26 season will mark his first time competing in the United States, as he joins Delta College Prep to gain exposure to Tier 1 and Tier 2 junior hockey programs and begin the NCAA recruitment process.
Head Coach Mitch Gillespie shared:
“Samuel has the ability to slow the game down and control the pace every time he touches the puck. His deception consistently creates scoring chances, making him a dangerous playmaker and a forward to watch this season.”
General Manager David Dew added:
“Sammy was a key signing of the early offseason. He has played in multiple European leagues and holds elite vision with an ability to possess the puck under pressure. With multiple point-per-game forwards graduating or advancing, we knew we needed to bring in high-end offensive talent. He fits that build perfectly, and we’re excited to bring him to North America to start exposing him to Tier 1/2 junior programs and the initial NCAA process.”
