OHIO NATIVE GAGE COATS SIGNS WITH DCP

2008 Ohio-born forward Gage Coats has signed with Delta College Prep for the 2026–27 campaign.

Coats joins DCP from the Cincinnati Jr. Cyclones AA program after previously playing with the Tri-State Spartans 16U AAA program. A dynamic forward with an above-average skill set at the prep level, Coats brings experience, offensive awareness, and the ability to impact the game in all situations.

General Manager David Dew:

“We spent a lot of time recruiting Gage. We cover the Ohio AA and scholastic scene extensively, and Gage was a primary target for us, especially given his previous experience at the 16U AAA level.

He already engages along the wall much like a junior hockey player, and I really appreciate his ability to find teammates in the offensive and neutral zones. We look forward to developing Gage and ultimately advancing him to higher levels of hockey.”

“Watching the Cyclones, it was clear just how impactful Gage was for them. He was always the first guy over the boards—power play, penalty kill, and all the key situations when it mattered most.

Gage has tremendous skill along the wall, and his ability to find teammates in the middle of the ice is special. As the primary facilitator for the Cyclones’ power play, he brings elite vision and game management to our group.
